$6.1 Million Heading to Nine Regional Airports in Colorado
DENVER- The U.S. Department of Transportation is awarding $6.1 million to several regional airports in Colorado. The grants will help the airports create jobs, upgrade safety equipment, construct new facilities, and improve runways and taxiways. Nucla Hopkins Field in Montrose County is receiving $1.98 million for runway improvements. Aspen-Pitkin County Airport is receiving $1.1 million for new equipment to help clear the airfield during severe weather, as well as $844,691 for taxiway construction. Adams, Alamosa, Lake, Rio Blanco, Washington, Weld, and Yuma counties will also receive competitive transportation grants.
