GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- People of all ages, types and abilities came together Saturday for the first annual Spirit of the Valley 5K.

Around 60 people participated in the 5K, which looped around St. Matthews Episcopal Church.

"There aren't a lot of events that specifically try to bring able bodies and disabled bodies together, so we thought it was a great opportunity," said Chris Parsons, race director.

The money raised will be donated to Colorado Discover Ability and two missions in Africa and the Dominican Republic.

After the race participants enjoyed a brunch inside the church.
