High Park Fire Now 55 Percent Contained

LARIMER COUNTY, Colo.- Crews battling the High Park Fire saw continued improvement and structure protection on the northern portion of the fire Monday.

Crews were able to reach 55 percent containment on the blaze, which has already consumed more than 83,000 acres.

The fire has now destroyed 257 homes, nearly 50 of them in the Glacier Park subdivision.

Nearly $30 million has been spent fighting the fire and more than 2,000 personnel are on site.
