NOME, Alaska (AP) - Mitch Seavey has won the Iditarod dog sled race, becoming the oldest person to do so.

The 53-year-old Seavey and his 10 dogs crossed the finish line in Nome, Alaska, at 10:39 p.m. Tuesday, local time.

Seavey first won the Iditarod in 2004, and his son, Dallas Seavey, won last year at age 25, becoming the youngest Iditarod winner ever.

Wow, somebody won something and the all-mighty Leviathan wasn't involved at all. It must be a good feeling to have won that race based upon the merits of his performance, stamina and training. Good job!
