GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Grand Junction celebrated its downtown vision Saturday.

There was a car show, dancing, balloon making, face painting and a band to celebrate the 50 year anniversary of Operation Foresight, which rejuvenated downtown.

Officials say some of the new improvements to Grand Junction's downtown are more outdoor patio options, benches, better lighting and pedestrian friendly roads and sidewalks. "Oh we love it. Just in the last couple years that we've lived here, we've seen downtown grow and it looks beautiful. We really enjoy it for families," said John Masce.

An old movie from 1962 was played at the Avalon Theater, and cake was served as well.
