by KREX News Room

Grand Junction - A big marijuana bust leads to the arrest of two people in Mesa County. According to an affidavit, a deputy made contact Thursday afternoon with a stopped minivan along I-70 near Mack.

While speaking with the two people inside the vehicle, 34-year-old Kim Thai and 37-year-old Huy Le, the deputy smelled the aroma of marijuana.

After the suspects agreed to a search of the van, authorities found nearly 100 pounds of pot in several duffel bags and suitcases. Officials say the street value of the marijuana is about $250,000.
