GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- The Friends of the Mesa County Library organization is fully prepared to sell thousands of books this weekend.

Close to 20,000 books were donated to the nonprofit group at the First Congregational Church, and they will be sold for anywhere from 25 cents to $2.

All the money raised will go toward the current Central Library Expansion and Improvement Project.

"We're always looking for books. It's very, very important that we keep getting donations," said Greg Gnesios, board member of Friends of the Mesa County Library.

Members of the organization have until 7 p.m. Thursday to shop around before the doors open to the public at 9 a.m. Friday. They will remain open until 3 p.m.

On Saturday the group is offering a deal of $5 per bag. Members say each bag can fit up to 10 books.

Books can always be donated to the church, which is located off of Fifth Street and Kennedy Avenue.
