GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Holiday cheer was in the air Friday night as the 'Spirit of Christmas Walk' brought hundreds of residents together in downtown Grand Junction.

Officials say the 17th annual spirit walk is the largest and most unique event every year.

About 300 entertainers participated going in and out of stores, including fire dancers, choirs, jazz bands, clowns, poets and hula dancers.

Santa Claus was also there walking around listening to kids wish lists.

"I'm asking the kids what they want for Christmas, and I'm giving candy canes to the kids," said Santa Claus.

Businesses stayed open and served hot complimentary drinks and treats.

There was also horse and carriage rides, all for free.
