by KREX News Room

Grand Junction - The Mesa County Fair is just around the corner, and officials are already getting ready for the big day. Officials were busy checking out the non-perishable entries for the judging section of the fair.

The fair will have its crowd pleasers, including the giant ferris wheel and the merry-go-round, as well as new attractions like the Express Personnel Clydesdale Hitch and the Meeker Sheepdog Presentations.

"The Hitch will be working on Thursday and Friday and the sheep dogs will be here on Friday evening. [The sheep dog presenters will] be walking around the crowd with their dogs," explains Donna Page, the Mesa County Fair Coordinator.

The "five best days of summer" start Tuesday, July 19th and run till Saturday, July 23rd. Tickets are $5 for adults, $1 for children and seniors. Parking is free.
