Alcohol Might Be Cause of Deadly Utah Rollover Crash

by KREX News Room

Authorities now say alcohol may have been a factor in the deadly rollover crash on I-70 near the Utah border. Investigators are trying to determine if the driver was intoxicated, and if so, was it a factor in the crash on Tuesday.

Police say 67-year-old Vivian Cooper from San Antonio was traveling eastbound on I-70 near mile marker 217 just after 9:00 Tuesday morning when she lost control, rolling one-and-a-half times before hitting a barbwire fence. Cooper was pronounced dead on scene.

Her passenger, 52-year-old Tamra Kindred, also from San Antonio, was pulled from the wreckage, and flown to Saint Mary's Hospital, where she was in critical condition at latest report.

Both women were wearing seat belts.
