Wind Storm Causes Mayhem in the Grand Valley

CLIFTON, Colo. Saturday night's wind storm caused some mayhem in the Grand valley, especially for one Clifton family.
Gusts of up to 50 miles-per-hour tore down a 50-foot tree, landing it right in their front yard.
The family says they actually came out lucky, the tree barely grazed their house and no one was injured. They were home when it happened and say they've never experienced anything quite like it before.
Homeowner Jory Watkins said, "It was last night [Saturday] about 8:30, we were watching TV, and the next thing I know I hear a big boom. I look out my window and I see branches falling, that's kind of when I knew what happened. Come outside and sure enough my tree was laying in my front yard."
Watkins says his neighbors and sons are helping him clear out the tree.
The wind also took down some power lines throughout the valley. Xcel crews worked for several hours to get power back to residents.
