Possible Suit in House Explosion Incident

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Attorneys with the law firm representing two victims of the house explosion in Grand Junction say they are doing an investigation to determine whether any parties may be liable for the incident. In the meantime, the victims continue to try and move forward and be normal college students once again.
Jordan Pierson, one of the victims, said, "You learn that materials are just materials. There was a lot of sentimental stuff that will never be replaced, but I mean, we have the bare necessities to live life."
Little things like sparking up the grill remind them of the traumatizing day, but they are slowly getting back to a new normal.
"We're back into classes now which I think is honestly the biggest part for us, start to get back into our routine, we're almost back to reality," Pierson said.
Keith Killian, Pierson's attorney, said, "We're looking at possible legal remedy. This is a catastrophic incident, everyone's aware of that. There may be parties that are liable and what we want to do is make sure we do our homework, do an investigation."
Pierson is one of two victims being represented by the Grand Junction law firm, Killian & Davis.
"Assuming that we can establish there is a liable party and assuming that we can show that damages were caused, then what we'd like to do is obviously have our clients reimbursed for the losses they've suffered," Killian said.
The losses vary for each victim, "Makes you realize you don't want to leave the house without saying, 'I love you man'," Pierson said.
"Of course there's a lot of property losses, there are certain individuals harmed physically, and so there's been a lot of emotional trauma undoubtedly involved and so these are things that law permits recovery for," said Killian.
"The explosion happened and it changed our lives forever, but we're not going to let it change who we are," Pierson said.
Because homes, like lives, can be rebuilt.
Killian says they could be making their decision about a possible suit in the next few weeks.
