Paws and Clown Collide at Pet Carnival
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. On Sunday paws collided with clowns at a pet carnival in Grand Junction. Hosted by Girl Scout Troop #2004, the event benefits Roice-Hurst Humane Society. To get into the carnival, folks donated a can or bag of Purina cat or dog food, cat litter, cat toy, durable chew toy for a medium or large dog or an adjustable collar for a medium or large dog. A veterinarian was also available to answer questions, and the shelter was open with adoptable cats and dogs. The two girl scouts who organized the event, Kyla Hele and Sarah Kralovek, say they want to help shelter animals find as many homes as possible. "Every girl now and then just wants to change the world, and we think we're probably going to do that," Hele said. The two girl scouts received the bronze award as a result of their community service project, the highest any junior can get. This is the second year the troop has held a fundraiser for the shelter.
