Yogo Mojo Changing the World One Tip at a Time
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. After collecting a years worth of tips, employees at Yogo Mojo gave it all up tonight for a good cause. They were able to collect $1,400 in tips and the money will be helping Project Hope. The local organization puts on a prom every year for mentally and physically challenged members of our community. Larry Phillips, owner of Yogo Mojo, suggested the idea to his employees, "I think it's good obviously not only for the prom to get some support from us financially, but I think it's good for the kids that work here too to see that sometimes there's a bigger picture than getting a paycheck and getting a few dollars in tips." Isah Mckenzie, a cashier at Yogo Mojo, said, "Money is a big issue in college but I think it goes to something that is a lot better and bigger than us, something that we don't understand totally. I know Larry has volunteered but we haven't even gone that far, so at least giving away tips, that's like no big deal." While the prom took place in May, these funds will help the organization pay off the entire event. This was the eighth prom they've put on.
