GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. The mother accused of negligent homicide after leaving her two young sons in a running vehicle on the Grand Mesa appeared in court on Thursday.
Two weeks ago in court Jensen's lawyers asked for a continuance to further consider a plea deal offered by prosecutors. In Thursday's hearing, Jensen's lawyer entered a plea of not guilty.
The grandparents of the two young boys were in the courtroom Thursday. After the hearing they gave reaction to the plea of not guilty, "I found that out yesterday afternoon, and so, that was good. We'd like to go to trial. I hope they don't try and change the venue to somewhere else, you know, which I'm sure they are probably going to do because of the public opinion here," said Robert Mathena.
A jury trail is scheduled for Oct. 28 to Nov. 8.
