GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. On Sunday folks of all ages headed to Main Street to get their hair cut for a good cause. Five 60 Salon held their sixth annual Cut-A-Thon.
The event raises money for CASA, a child advocate program aimed at giving abused and neglected children a voice.
For $15, anyone could get a haircut, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting the organization.
Heather Heinbaugh, co-owner of Five 60 Salon, said, "It's a lot of fun for us and we think CASA is a really important cause. Not a lot of people are aware of what CASA does and so we feel like it brings some awareness to CASA and a little bit of money."
This year several other stores participated in the fundraiser, including Pollux, Pablo's Pizza and Kairo's. These businesses are donating 10 percent of the day's proceeds to the cause.
Officials say they've brought in more than $2,000 so far.
