GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo.
Each year Budget Travel asks the nation to vote for "The Coolest Small Town in America." With a population of 9,614, Glenwood Springs made the list, the only Colorado town to do so.
Employees at Glenwood Canyon Resort aren't surprised. Stu Bryner, a guide and online liaison for the business, said, "The trip that I really enjoy offering is just bringing people that have never really experienced anything likes before and taking them out of their comfort zone a little bit."
Like others, he's a Glenwood Springs transplant, "I can't, I can't leave!"
Zip-line guide and rafting guide, Sean Power, said, "I've been in Glenwood on and off over 30 years. I leave and come back every time because it's that awesome."
Every day they take folks on adventures through the town they've grown to love.
"They always come back with a great smile, they love it," said Bryner.
"From outdoor exciting sports to hunting and fishing there's something for everybody, so it's a great spot," Power said.
"Glenwood's not a big town and I think it is kind of the diamond in the rough, you know? Nobody really knows about it and so, not that we really want to keep it that way, but we want to keep it that way," said Bryner.
They do have a warning for all visitors.
"I would say get here as fast as you can and prepare to leave wishing you could've done more there was to offer," said Power.
"We love what we do and we love sharing it with people, so that's why we're out here," Bryner said.
They invite everyone to come take a jump in one of America's coolest small towns.
