Officials Awaiting Coroner’s Report on Shooting

Investigators are hoping a coroner’s report sheds more light into the mystery behind a man’s death. Mesa County Sheriff Officials say the coroner is performing the autopsy on Thursday on a man who was found shot to death inside a Grand Junction home.

The shooting happened Wednesday afternoon at 12:20. Sheriff officials say the man was found dead inside a bedroom of a house at 2524 Frontage Road.

Detectives were on scene hours after the shooting, collecting evidence from inside and outside the home.

Authorities say family members were home at the time of the shooting, one of which called 911.

The Mesa County Coroner is expected to release the cause of death and the victim’s name.
