A former Navy Secretary stopped in Grand Junction Thursday, hoping to influence Coloradans to use American oil. Colorado’s economy depends on agriculture, tourism, and recreation—and all of these are impacted by climate change.
Retired General John Douglass is urging Coloradans to use domestic renewable energy to decrease use of foreign oil. He says it will also help put money and jobs back in Coloradans’ pockets.
A bill was introduced April 1st and is in the first process of legislation. The bill aims to enhance the energy security of the United States by diversifying energy sources for on-road transport, increasing the supply of energy resources, and strengthening energy infrastructure. The legislation aims to take innovative steps to reduce the U.S. economy’s dependence on foreign oil.
General Douglass continues his tour to Denver, Pueblo, and Durango to gain support of renewable energy.

Did anyone see the article Rick Wagner wrote for the Sentinel? Excelent read, shows there are far more problems with alternatives than what we are being told.
Jumping from oil to alternatives without a transition time to test and improve and bring out the best product before mass manufacture is asking for trouble. But who wants to do that when there are huge profits to be made. Seems like the bottom line is more important than getting this transition from oil to alternatives done in a manner that will be beneficial to everyone.
If the planet were as fragile as we are told by the environmentalists, It would have crashed a long time ago. Perhaps it is the environmentalists who are fragile.
