Around 10 cars are spray painted with gang letters in Clifton, and now families are wondering who’s at fault.  Clifton neighbors told NewsChannel 5 that they woke up to find cars spray painted Friday morning with the words “Goon Squad Gang.”

All together, it caused around $4,000 in damages, and it may even be more.  NewsChannel 5 drove around the neighborhood on Saturday, and some cars still have the spray paint on it.

The letters ‘GS’ and the words “Goon Squad Gang” were painted with blue spray on doors and windows.  Neighbors said they’ve never had any problems with gangs and haven’t even heard of Goon Squad before.  They think it may be a group of young kids just trying to fit in.

“We’ve been here 20 years, and we’ve never had anything like this before.  ‘GS’ was spray painted on my car, and I had no idea what that meant, but some of the other cars said “I am a member of Goon Squad Gang,” Kathy Pike said, a victim of the gang grafitti.

Most neighbors were able to get the spray paint off of the cars right away with magic marker.  One neighbor said they called Mesa County Sheriff’s Office, but no one came out to investigate.

Sheriff officials said they have never heard of a gang called Goon Squad.

If you have any information that can help catch the suspect(s), call Crime Stoppers at (970) 241-STOP.
