Matt Kroschel joined the NewsChannel 5 team in April 2010 as a reporter, photographer, and live truck operator. He is a true Colorado native, born and raised in Salida.

He found his way to Grand Junction to attend college right here at Mesa State College with majors in Mass Communications and Speech. Before joining KREX, Matt worked for campus media outlets and at a daily newspaper covering news. While working in print, Matt won several Colorado Press Associations awards for his breaking news coverage.

While not at work, Matt likes to exercise, travel and spend time with his friends and family.
