I was fortunate to join the NewsChannel 5 Weather Team as the Chief Meteorologist in December of 2012. I earned my B.S. in meteorology with a minor in mathematics from Metro State University of Denver. While in school I interned with Mike Nelson at 7 News in Denver for two years, graduated in May of '11 and began my first job at KWES NewsWest9 in Midland, TX as the weekend meteorologist. I was there for 1 year until I saw KREX NewsChannel 5 was in need of a chief meteorologist and applied immediately to have the chance to forecast back in Colorado!
Spreading the knowledge of weather through visiting schools and speaking with students is something I have come to love doing, as well as meeting with the community and getting to know the people of the Western Slope. I strive to give accurate, educating and entertaining forecasts to all those who watch NewsChannel 5.
I have lived off and on in the cities of Denver, Breckenridge and Evergreen since 2000 and love the mountain lifestyle, the weather, and what the Colorado outdoors has to offer. You can catch me on my snowboard at Powderhorn Ski Resort during the weekends and near the lakes fishing and camping over the summer with my wife, Ronelle.
