Angel Russell graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism.
Before attending the University, she was a reporter and anchor for the Community Access broadcasted Ohlone Network News in California, where she produced a weekly newscast program.
Angel later moved on as a Volunteer reporter and videographer for the Milpitas Magazine Show in Milpitas, CA. Her responsibilities included being an anchor and reporter for the weekly broadcasted TV show.
While attending the University of Hawaii at Manoa, she worked on the Community Access broadcasted magazine show, Ka Hui Ho’olauna, where she was a host, reporter, videographer and video editor.
Angel has also interned for Hawaii Pacific Entertainment in the video production department. This experience allowed her to become proficient in the use of Final Cut Pro and Final Cut Pro X.
Recently, Angel was in the final round of Rhode Islands Rhode Show “Search for a Star competition” where the show holds auditions for a new Co-Host for a year contract. Hundreds of people auditioned for the show, and Angel made it down to the top five. This experience challenged her to produce weekly content for the show and gave her the experience of Co-Hosting the show live.
Currently, Angel is excited to be a part of the Channel 5 News team. Although she may be new to the snow, Angel is ready to trade her surf board in for a snow board.
