A teenager is struck by a pick-up truck while riding his bike through a busy downtown Grand Junction intersection. Police say the 15-year-old boy disregarded a crosswalk sign early this afternoon at the intersection at 1st and Grand on his bike. A pickup truck merging onto Highway 50 attempted to swerve and miss the boy, but ended up colliding with him.
The boy was was taken to St. Mary’s with non-life-threatening injuries to his face and lower legs. The westbound lane of Highway 50 had to be temporarily closed and traffic rerouted around the scene.
