Pear Park, Colo.

The victim of a recent stabbing is found dead in his Pear Park home. The body was found early Tuesday morning at a home on D Road.

Police were called to the home on 2961 D Road around 2:30 Tuesday morning, where they found one man dead. The Mesa County Coroner’s office confirms that the victim is 32-year-old Douglas Bennett.

Bennett was involved in a stabbing last Thursday. According to police documents, Bennett was sharing a ride in a sober van with 58-year-old Mack Sadler when the two got in an argument.

Police say Sadler stabbed Bennett with a pocket knife. Sadler claims the stabbing was in self-defense.

There is no word on if Bennett’s death is connected with last week’s stabbing. The coroner is working to determine cause and manner of death.
