Mesa State College is scrapping plans to open its forensics lab at 29 Road and the Riverside Parkway. The college met resistance from neighbors in the area of the proposed site for a so-called body farm, and Mesa State is changing its plans.
The college sent out letter to neighbors informing them of the changes, and the college says some of the neighbors’ concerns were founded. Officials at Mesa State said they will look for a more remote location and make sure neighbors are not affected by the forensic farm.
Now, Mesa State is in the process of finding a new location. The college is taking down a razor wire fence that was surrounding the site. They hope to have the forensic facility in place before this coming fall semester.
