Iowa Western scored two runs in the eighth inning to beat San Jacinto, 5-4, for the school’s first JUCO World Series Championship.
The Reivers beat San Jacinto on back-to-back nights to knock out the top team in the country and advance out of the loser’s bracket.
Taylor Eickenberry struck out two batters in the ninth inning to pick up the save.
Adam Lavelle scored on a wild pitch with two outs in the 8th inning to tie up the contest at 4. Brandon Bass singled up the middle to drive in the game-winning run.
137,920 people came out to the 2010 JUCO World Series, a record for the 19-game tournament.
