Glenwood Springs, Colo.
The recent opening of I-70 is providing the Glenwood Springs Post Office much needed relief. With 37 offices that process mail to Aspen, Glenwood Springs, Rifle, and Vail, the post office says the interstate closure has made the last few days extra stressful. But they were able to adjust the carrier operations and bring in additional transportation means to cope with the closure.
“We’ve made some changes to our surface and air transportation, and we obviously implemented some operational changes, so that we could accommodate the difference in the time that the mail was arriving,” said Kathy Harrell, Postmaster of Glenwood Spring.
The Postmaster says during the past four days, mail deliveries in all areas were only delayed a matter of hours.
