Health officials are also urging the public to get vaccinated against the seasonal flu. The Mesa County Health Department is offering walk-in clinics for kids and adults at several location in the area, the first of which is Tuesday at the Gateway Community Building from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a clinic on Wednesday in Debeque, and then on October 13th at the Plateau Valley School in Collbran.

Health officials say the seasonal flu vaccine doesn’t protect against the swine flu, but it is still important to get vaccinated.

People at the highest risk for the seasonal flu include children six to 59 months old, pregnant women, those 50 and older and people with certain chronic medical conditions.
