Gene Taylor’s baseball team split it’s final doubleheader of the season on Tuesday afternoon at Canyon View Park.

GT (19-13) stormed out to a 7-0 lead against Mountain Range in game one and cruised to a 13-5 victory. Tyler Stanford, who just graduated from Grand Junction High School and will attend Mesa State in the fall, earned the victory.

Mountain Range avoided the sweep in game two with an extra inning victory over Gene Taylors, 3-2 in eight innings.

Cody Rahmann, a Fruita Monument High School graduate, allowed one run in the first inning before settling down and pitching four consecutive scoreless innings.
