Fire Department Searching for Answers in Fruitvale Fire

A Fruitvale house fire that left a family homeless still has investigators searching for a cause tonight. Two people were in the home when the blaze started, but were able to escape before fire crews arrived.

One person inside the home called 911 at around 6:30 Wednesday night telling dispatchers that the carpet, table, and couch were on fire.

One woman who was on oxygen was taken to the hospital for minor smoke inhalation.

Red Cross is assisting the family. The estimated loss is more than $150,000.
