Grand Junction, Colo.

A popular Denver newspaper will only be on the Western Slope once a week. The Denver post will only deliver the Sunday edition to the Western Slope, after July 12th. The paper will convert all subscribers to the weekday electronic edition. According to the paper, the Western Slope is an outlying area that doesn’t make economic sense to advertisers in the Denver metro area.

In a similar effort, the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel has cut home delivery in Glenwood, Silt, New Castle, and Rangely. Sentinel staff say they’ve also dropped delivery to Rifle, Battlement Mesa, Parachute, and Meeker to just 3 days a week. The paper says affected customers have also switched to the electronic addition.
