The identity of the man killed in a bar fight on Main Street has been released. The Mesa County coroner identified the victim Wednesday afternoon as Richard Martinez, 32, of Grand Junction. The coroner confirms Martinez died from blunt force head injuries sustained during a fight outside of Quincy’s Bar and Grill on Main Street.
Grand Junction Police say an altercation inside the bar led to a fight outside between Martinez and the suspect, 27-year-old Sahr Benjamin Mbawa. An arrest warrant for him was issued on Tuesday, and he is wanted for murder. Police say Mbawa has a history of violence and should be considered dangerous.
