(AP) Defenseman Ray Macias is expected to make his NHL debut for the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday night against Phoenix after being recalled from the Lake Erie Monsters of the AHL.
A fourth-round selection in the 2005 draft, the 22-year-old Macias would become the ninth Colorado player to make his NHL debut this season, the most in Avalanche history. The Avalanche had eight players make their debut during the 1998-99 season.
Macias scored 18 points in 36 games for the Monsters. He also played in eight games for the Johnstown of the ECHL, recording a goal and five assists.
