According to the London Times, 46-year-old Marcus Bebb-Jones was arrested Wednesday morning in England. He’s accused of killing his wife and dumping her body in a Colorado national park. 31 year-old Sabrina Bebb-Jones went missing back in 1997. Police found her skull seven years later, but by that time her husband fled the country and was off living a so-called playboy lifestyle.
A professional poker player, Mr. Bebb-Jones made a name for himself in the poker world overseas. Now, the gambler isn’t at the table, but behind bars.
“I can confirm that Mr. Bebb-Jones has been arrested in the U.K,” says Garfield County District Attorney Martin Beeson.
Bebb-Jones and his wife Sabrina owned Hotel Melrose in downtown Grand Junction on Colorado Avenue. A hotel staff member was the one to report Mrs. Bebb-Jones went missing back in 1997.
The London Times says the weekend after Mrs. Bebb-Jones was killed, her husband went on a gambling spree with her credit cards. That same weekend, he tried to kill himself, but survived. This poker sensation took a big gamble, and now has first degree murder charges to deal with.
The Garfield County District Attorney hopes to bring Bebb-Jones back here to the United States to stand trial. If found guilty, Bebb-Jones faces life in prison without parole.
